Pretty Spring Vibe!! Antique Washstand Update
Welcome March with the anticipated arrival of Spring! We’ve been busy receiving new spring décor for both home and the cottage. Soon it will be time to freshen up our living spaces and open up the cottage. Winter months are a great time to tick away on those DIY project like painting tired old furniture. This vintage metal bed from the 1940’s was painted in Milk Paint Typewriter a true deep black that grounds the room. Vintage end tables created from an old vanity were given a coat of a bright royal blue by Country Chic Chalk-Style Paint Starstruck. Natural wood tones of the old oar and creel basket at warmth and texture.

IOD Décor Transfers are a little delicate, need a little extra care, but are so worth it. With a little instruction, they are easy to use and add instant style to your projects.
Iron Orchid Designs – Decor Moulds & Air Dry Clay
Air dry clay: IOD paper clay is an air dry medium, and one of our favorites. Like most paper pulp based air dry clays, some shrinking, warping, and cracking is inherent. We like these qualities for a distressed, authentically vintage look. Our favorite way to apply moulded pieces is to remove them from the mould while still moist, and adhere to the surface with the appropriate glue so it conforms well. For vertical surfaces, use a piece of low tack tape to hold it in place so it doesn’t slide.

Most times over the years furniture usually receives some type of surface damage and some more than others. This vintage sideboard was not in great shape and was definitely in need of a little love. For those of you who love the authentic look of a time worn furniture then this piece is for you! Painted in Miss Mustard Seed’s Farmhouse White sealed with Natural Wax.
